A change in the law regarding electrical safety standards in the private rented sector, effective 1 June 2020, means that all occupied residential premises must now be inspected and tested at intervals of no more than 5 years.
Electrical safety standards, defined as the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations, BS 7671:2018, must be met. Any further investigation or remedial action must be undertaken within 28 days, or less if the EICR requires.
If you want to brush up on your EICR skills then watch Artisan Electrics' in-depth 'EICR Codes Form Filling' video on YouTube. It features Vespula Electrical Certification Software, the forerunner of CertSuite.
